Alton Model Flying Club (AMFC), based in the heart of the Hampshire Countryside, is an enthusiastic group of radio control model aircraft fliers. We only fly fixed wing model aircraft that can pass a noise test (no helicopters or gas turbine models are allowed) and members must hold a minimum of the BMFA Basic Proficiency Certificate to fly without an instructor. The club also permits members who hold a BMFA fixed wing A certificate to fly small multi-rotor craft (drones) when fixed wing fliers are not using the field.
During the Winter months the club also runs an indoor flying evening once a month in the Medstead village hall where members fly all types of models. The hall is only slightly larger than a badmington court which limits the types of models that can be flown, but members fly fixed wing, helicopters and FPV drones.
